Talk your dog lovingly so that he knows not a punishment tell him what a good boy he is. If he starts looking stressed or anxious let him out but do not pet him after a short period put him back in.
When you leave your dog his crate always ensure he has a bowl water comfortable. It a good idea give him something keep him occupied like a chew course he will need some toys too. Dogs should not be left alone their crate more than a few hours at most. Always allow them relieve themselves before going into crate when they are let out crate.
